Barack Obama Elected For President

As the looks of it November 4, 2008 we just elected a new president and we have history. Everybody was astonished that this is the first black president that we have ever had. It is now history for him and for the United States. The speech that he gave when he was elected president was overwhelming. When President Obama said yes we can brought enthusiastic to everyone. Obama thinks that change will come in America. I agree because change has already come we have made history we have a “BLACK PRESIDENT.” In my opinion I am happy for Obama becoming president but I wanted John McCain to win. I just have my reasons why I want him to win. I wanted him to win because the war in Iraq is dangerous and I don’t want it to get brought to America. I just have this feeling that if we end the war in Iraq that they won’t like it one bit and come to our country we don’t want that we just want peace how dam hard is it I just want a safe world for once. Now a day’s the world just gets worse and worse

Hillary Clinton as Secretary of State

December 1, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. Barack announced his cabinet. The tricky part about this was he announced that Hillary Clinton as the Secretary of the State. This was a shocker because of their furious democratic rivalry. However in my eyes this job was just handed to her. “Lucky Her” Bill Clinton had to disclose the names of all donors to his foundation and library, Bill Clinton also had to agree with some other conditions at this time. Hillary Clinton’s job from now on until somebody else is elected is she will worry about foreign affairs. My opinion on Hillary being the Secretary of State is I think it will be a good experience for her and for the United States. I think that since she had such a good competition with Barack that there must be a reason to why she is the Secretary of State. There is just one thing that I don’t want Hillary to do I don’t want her to go the same route her husband went she is better than that I hope. All I got to say is good luck Hillary in the white house with Barack.

FDA Complicit in pushing Pharmaceutical Drugs

While the US food and Drug administration turns a blind eye drug companies are making false unsubstantiated and misleading claims in their advertising, withholding mandated disclosure of dangerous effects. Companies are required to submit their advertisement to the FDA the agency does not review them before they are released to the public. The FDA reviews a small portion of the advertisements it receives and does not review those using consistent criteria.  Claiming lack of funds and resources necessary to impose effective regulations on drug marketing the FDA is asking Congress to charge drug companies fees in order to fund FDA review of advertisements before they go public as part of renewing the Prescription Drug User Fee Act. PDUFA has come under fire from consumer advocates who say it gives the pharmaceutical industry too much leverage over the FDA and has resulted in rushing drugs to market. But the FDA hopes that if Congress approves the plan, it will raise more than $6 million annually through “user fees” to review advertisements. I don’t like that they only look over part of the advertisements and not all of them. In my opinion I don’t think that it is fair to the other people who do advertise. I hate when people are unfair why cant we all just be friends

Immigrant Roundup to Gain Cheap Labor for US Corporate Giants

The North American Free trade agreement flooded Mexico with cheap subsidized agricultural products that pushed away millions of Mexican farmers. In 2000 – 2005 Mexico lost 900,000 rural jobs and 700,000 industrial jobs resulting unemployment throughout the country. Poverty has desperately forced millions of Mexicans to the north in order to feed their families. In 1994 was the first year of Agreement, the U.S. exported $4.59 billion of agricultural products to Mexico. By 2006 the figure had raised to $9.85 billion an increase of 114%. There is a huge gap between salaries and in the United State and Mexico the US demands for the cheap labor to compete on global markets has created the current situation. In my opinion I think that there is a lot of racism in this country today. I think this because why is a Mexican not allowed in America but African American, Chinese, Japanese etc. are allowed here without doing some kind of paper work so I still think we have racism today. I think that if they let the Mexican come from Mexico we would have a lot of hard working people. I also think that we shouldn’t call Mexican’s immigrants.

Bernie Mac’s Death

Bernie Mac was born in Chicago, Illinois. He was raised by his mom who was single his mother died when he was 16 she died of cancer.  He would put on shows to neighborhood kids. Bernie Mac as we all know that he was a comedian he started his doing his comedian life at the Chicago Cotton Pick Club. He won the Miller Lite Comedy search he won this award when he was 32 years of age. At point his popularity started to grow. Mac married for the first time to a girl named Rhonda McCullough in 1977. But beside the point we all know that Bernie Mac Deceased at a young age he passed away on August 9, 2008 early in the morning this was shocking new to everybody. He died of Pneumonia. He was hospitalized for about a week at Northwestern Memorial Hospital. A couple years before he was disclosed that he suffered from sarcoidosis this is a rare disease that causes inflammation in tissue but most often in the lungs. His funeral was held on August 16, at the House of Hope church in Chicago. More than 7,000 people attended his funeral. In my opinion this was very tragic to see some famous pass away out of the blue. I didn’t know anything about it until I saw it on the news. I was very sad I liked to watch his TV. Shows. He will be missed much; I just couldn’t imagine how his family was feeling and still feeling.

Car of The Future

What do you think is going to be the car of the future? Well Charles E. Schumer believes that the car our future will be a plug in hybrid electric car. U.S. automakers were stating that they would use federal bailout money to transform  their companies this will produce the car of the future. Washington Post Article ”many members of congress believe that they know what the car company of the future should look like” This might not be the best solution because they feel that this make companies lose money instead of a way sustaining the U.S. auto industry Car manufactures have not yet found a cheap enough price to make any money on them. Automobile experts estimate that the battery in a plug in a vehicle could add at least $8,000 to the cost of car.

I completely and fully disagree with the whole “plug in hybrid electric car” i think that it is just going to be a waste of money that our economy dont have i dont think that they should do it. I know that we will be going green but i think that is a waste well in my eyes any way. i also think that this idea is dumb because look at all the years that we have had regular car and we didnt have any problems. i think we will do good with regular car’s if Obama dont raise the gas prices.

George Bush

George Bushwas the forty third president. He was president from 2001 to 2008. George was the forty sixth governor of Texas, he was the governor from 1995 to 2008. It was only eight months that George was president and 9/11 occured. Then Bush announced the Golbal war on terrorism. He ordered an invasion of Afghanistan that same year and also an invasion in Iraq in 2003.  In addition to the national security issues, Bush had attempted to promote policies on the economy such as: health care, education, and social security reform. There was large tax cuts on the following three: No child left behind act, medicare prescription drugs benefit for senior, and his tenure has seen a national debate on immigration.

Bush ran again for re election in 2004 against Senator John Kerry, and he was re elected. Bush received  heated criticism. Well Bush was for president for the two terms he received both low and high demostic approval ratings of American Presidents.

In my opinion i didnt really care for Bush as our President. i didnt like him as a president because i dont like the fact that he has had the war going on for eight years. People were and still are risking thier lives for our country. They leave the families left behind and what if they never see their families again Poor incent people. He also made bad decision when it came to the country’s economy.

Bailout

This week the congress will consider if they should dish out billions of dollars out to bailout troubled companies according to the CNN news. They are saying that millions of jobs could be lost and more $100 billion in wages taken out of the U.S. economy. Some people think that the bailout will be postponed the inevitable and that the failure of one or more of the companies is necessary if the economy is to work properly. House speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif, and senate majority leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., have said they want the government to help the companies and that the funding should come out of $700 billion bailout plan passed by Congress last month.

In my opinion I don’t like the idea and I do not agree with this. I don’t agree with it because it is a lot of money to take out of the U.S. economy. We don’t need to be taking money out of the economy for things that are not important. I not saying that it isn’t important I just saying that it’s not our fault that they are going bankrupt. It’s not fair it’s not our fault it’s the car dealerships fault. They are the one’s that made the mistakes. I hope for the best and hope they get some help but not billions of dollars from our economy.

Homeland Security

Homeland security is testing the next generation of security screening a body scanner that can read your mind. Homeland security has a new system called Malintent. Malintent turns the old school approach on its head. Homeland searches your body for non-verbal cues that predict whether you mean harm to your fellow passengers. Homeland security has a series of sensors and images that your read your body temperature, heart rate, and respiration for unconscious tells invisible to the naked eye -signals terrorist and criminals may display in advance of an attack. This is not a polygraph test. The way this works is when the sensors identify that something is off, they transmit warning data to analysts, who decide whether to flag passengers for further questioning. The next step involves micro-facial scanning, which involves measuring minute muscle movements in the face for clues to mood and intention. DHS is planning an even wider array of screening technology, including an eye scanner next year and pheromone-reading technology by 2010.

In my opinion i think that the world is going to be nothing but technology. I just think that we will be cruising around in spaceship sooner then we think because every thing that you see now a day’s is computerized for example, cell phones, computers, cars, and soon your t.v. I just think that we are closer to the point of every thing being technology are almost to the point nothing but technology. But in my opinion i dont like this idea because it goes along with the government wanting to put chip in everybody. Even though Homeland security is saying that the could stop a terrorist i still think that we shouldn’t have to do it if you dont want to.

Why You Should Vote for McCain

Here are some reasons that i think that you should vote for McCain. I think that you should vote for McCain because first of all i think that we should finish the war in Iraq because i think that if we don’t finish it over in Iraq that the war is just going to be right in our hand because they will come to America. I would not there to be a war right in our hands that is so dangerous. Another reason you should vote for McCain is because i think that you should vote for McCain is that he is against abortions. Abortions are wrong because if you dont want any kids that you should be on something like birth control or just don’ t open your legs.

I think that you should  vote for McCain because he wants to finish the war in Iraq and he should let the war go on until it is done because we don’t the war coming to America. Do we?  Well i don’t want to i don’t want anything close to me or my family that is dangerous. Because i would never want to harm the ones that i love. Also i agree with abortions. I think abortions are wrong how could you take a little innocent babies life. that would hurt so bad i could understand if you got raped then yeah because its not your fault. But if you were willing then you should no the consequences. If you open your legs then that’s your fault if your not on some kind of birth control.

John McCain Perspective on Alternative Energy/ Offshore Drilling

John McCain is concerned about alternative energy and offshore drilling. He has came up with a short-term solution to solve America’s energy crisis. McCain plans to remove federal moratorium for off shore drilling and give financial help to those state willing to participate to pump oil off their coasts. John McCain tells the American people in one of his speeches that we should not have depend on foreign powers for our finance in energy, he goes on to say that American dependency on foreign oil is just a matter of consequences. John McCain is confident in his long term goals for alternatives to oil, but for the short term traditional sources will be needed.

I agree with McCain, his solution for Alternative Energy/Offshore Drilling is great. I think that he is going good with everything but how is he going to get the air cleaner unless we all ride pedal bikes. I think that the fuels will have to change with less fumes but without the so strong ingredients but the catch is we wont be able to get every where that we need to go. I hope that McCain is not just saying things to get to be President i really hope he does the things he says he is going to do. I’m expecting him to do a lot. Go John McCain.

Health Care John McCain

This week’s blog is on John McCain’s perspective on health care. McCain says “health care is a responsibility just make it available. McCain thinks that it is his responsibility to make it available to everybody and make it affordable. John wants to give a $5,000 refundable tax credit for every family. He also wants to control health cost so that manufactures stay competitive. Also McCain states that he want to be able to re import drugs from Canada. Higher taxes on cigarettes McCain says.

In my opinion i agree with McCain he has a good plan for health care. All McCain wants is to treat people equally. He wants to help everyone get health care and that’s good because know a days health care is so expensive. McCain thinks that you should get treated equally. I agree you should always treat people the way that you want to be treated.
